Kashan
A house in the alley beside the Agha Bozorg mosque and madrasa, one of the finest eighteenth-century buildings in the city. Ten room types split between the ground floor and the basement, and three of them, two singles and a double, have no private bathroom or toilet. The basement rooms are the cool ones in summer.

Double
Two rooms only, in the Bastan lanes off Alavi Street in the old quarter. One is a capsule single, a sleeping berth rather than a room, and it has no private bathroom or toilet; the other is an ordinary double. Priced and built for someone passing through on their own.
Nine rooms in Boostani alley off Molla Habibollah Sharif Street, each with its own bathroom, sleeping one to six. A family of six fits in a single room, which is unusual here.
Kamal-ol-Molk Square, Darvazeh Isfahan St
Five rooms at Kamal-ol-Molk Square, on the road out towards Isfahan. Read the room names carefully before booking: three of the five have no window at all, and two others have no private bathroom or toilet. It is among the cheapest beds in the city and the trade-offs are real.
