Three-star Azadi, opened in 1977 and renovated in 2015, stands in the historic centre with quick access to Naqsh-e Jahan Square, Ali Qapu and the coppersmiths' bazaar.
Seven rooms, every one a double, on Dr Taba Street near Pour Hashemi Square. Four have their own bathroom and three do not. Uniform and simple: if you want a straightforward double in the south of the city, this is exactly that and nothing more.

A five-room two-star at Shiraz Gate on Hezar Jarib Street, in the university quarter south of the river. Rooms sleep one to four. Cheap, and closer to the campuses and the Sofeh mountain than to the bazaar.
