Qeshm ist Irans größte Insel, ein delfinförmiger Riese in der Straße von Hormuz, weit wilder als das nahe gelegene Kish. Der größte Teil der Insel bildet den ersten UNESCO Global Geopark des Nahen Ostens – ein „natürliches Geologiemuseum“ aus sternförmigen Schluchten, Salzhöhlen und Gezeitenmangroven. Jenseits der Geologie gibt es traditionelle Bandari-Dörfer, den Bau von Lenj-Booten (Dhau), die portugiesische Festung und unkomplizierte Abstecher nach Hengam und Hormuz. Im Winter warm und angenehm, im Sommer brutal heiß.
