A small three-star on Ayineh Khaneh Boulevard, directly across from Si-o-se Pol, the seventeenth-century bridge of thirty-three arches. Six rooms only, sleeping one to four, so it fills quickly in spring. You are on the river here, walking distance from Chaharbagh rather than a taxi ride away.

A one-star budget hotel down a side alley off Neshat Street, in the dense old quarter east of Chaharbagh. Seven rooms covering singles through to five beds, which makes it one of the easier cheap options for a family. Expect simple rooms; the location is the point.
In the Sang Tarash Ha alley off Hakim Nezami, on the Jolfa side of the river. Thirteen room types, each named for something in the city rather than numbered, Chehel Sotoun, Hasht Behesht, Khaju, Khayyam, a Qajar mirror room and a Qajar sun room, with connecting five-bed suites among them. One of the larger traditional-style houses on this side of the water.
Chaharbagh Paeen, Posht Baroo 14 Alley
A restored house in the Posht Baroo lanes off lower Chaharbagh, where the rooms keep the old Persian words for them, vosagh, faraghat-khaneh and khab-khaneh, alongside a Qajar royal suite. Three of the six have their bathroom outside the room rather than in it, and one corner twin has a ceiling of about 170 centimetres, which the listing states plainly and taller guests should take seriously.
