Tabas is a green desert oasis in South Khorasan, a startling pocket of palm groves and gardens amid the central deserts — the gateway to the Mesr and Halvan dune seas and the mysterious Kal-e Jenni (Canyon of the Jinn). At its heart lies the lush Golshan Garden, a Persian paradise of palms, citrus and pools. Rebuilt after a devastating 1978 earthquake, Tabas is a classic base for desert safaris and dark-sky nights.
