Masal is a small Talesh-mountain town in western Gilan famous for one magical phenomenon — the 'sea of clouds' that pools below the high meadows of Olasbelangah, where you stand above the cloud with forests rising through the mist. A place of green highland pasture, wooden cottages, waterfalls and homestays, it is a favourite summer escape (May-Oct) for nature lovers and photographers.
